Our Story
Loaded Barrel Studios was founded by filmmakers Jared Barel and Jordan Barel way back in 2007 when we released our very first self-published comic BRIELLE AND THE HORROR #1. Truthfully, we never fully intended on becoming a bonafide publishing studio. We just had an idea for a story that we thought would make a cool comic book. Who would have guessed that we would have ended up selling 1,000 copies of BRIELLE #1 out of the Artist’s Alley at New York Comic Con?
Today, we are a full service film and comic book production studio, bringing to life our own stories while working with writers, filmmakers, studios, artists, and major corporations to bring their visions to life.
Whether it be sequential, cinematic, or graphic, At Loaded Barrel STudios we are storytellers at heart.
What is a “live-action” graphic novel?

“Live-Action Graphic Novel” is the phrase that we use to describe Jared Barel’s unique art stylings in which every panel on every page of Jared’s comics are set up and shot like a film on digital stills with live actors, props, costumes, etc. and then converted into the “comic” art that you see in the book through a fusion of traditional and digital illustration, photo manipulation, and computer generated imaging to create a visual experience unlike any other.
You guys make movies too?
That’s right! As of 2020, Loaded Barrel Studios has release its first feature film, THE INCOHERENTS, directed by Jared Barel, with worldwide distribution by Gravitas Ventures. The Incoherents is the first of what will be many films developed at Loaded Barrel Studios and we can’t wait for you to find out what’s in store for the future!

Who is Loaded Barrel Studios?
Jared Barel
Jared is an internationally award winning artist, designer, author, writer, and filmmaker. He is the artist behind Loaded Barrel Studios’ work and the creator of our signature “live-action” style. Jared is also the director and editor of Loaded Barrel Studios’ debut feature film production, THE INCOHERENTS, distributed by Gravitas Ventures. If that wasn’t enough, Jared is also an accomplished motion graphics designer and editor having worked with companies like Sprint, Anheuser-Busch, GamesWorkshop, CBS Broadcasting, and many, many more. An experienced music video director, Jared has worked with artists such as DMC, Hayley Kiyoko, Bob Moses, OURS, Starley, and more developing music videos, album art, tour visuals, graphics, and more.
Jordan Barel
Jordan is Writer, Producer, and Lawyer for Loaded Barrel Studios. Jordan’s impressive resume includes New Line Cinema, AMC, Verve Talent Agency, and creative development with actor and comedian Paul Scheer. Jordan's screenplay THE MAN FROM TOMORROW, a biopic about Elon Musk, was honored with being included on the Hollywood Blacklist in 2017. Jordan was also recently named in Variety’s Hollywood Movers and Shakers List.
